Charging stations for electric trucks and e-buses

Electric trucks and buses are becoming increasingly popular. It is expected that by 2030, a third of the transport fleet will consist of electric trucks and electric buses. This transition naturally requires an adapted charging infrastructure. At Powerland we offer specific, tailor-made charging solutions for the transport sector.

Growing market

More and more transport companies are investing in electric trucks and buses. These zero-emission vehicles have several advantages:

  • lower consumption and maintenance costs
  • quieter: about 10 dB lower than a traditional truck
  • comfortable driving: faster acceleration and braking
  • good for the environment (completely exhaust-free)

As a result, e-trucks and e-buses are often allowed to do more than their equivalent with a combustion engine. For example, they are allowed in places where other trucks are not welcome, such as covered warehouses and city centers with low-emission zones (LEZ).Because they are quieter, they can also deliver at night to places where the noise level must remain low.

Charging stations for e-trucks and e-buses

To accelerate the electrification of trucks and buses, an adapted charging infrastructure is essential. It is customary to charge the electric trucks at the depot at night. With a power of 50 to 100 kW, this usually takes about 6 to 8 hours.

On request, these chargers can be controlled by a smart controller, which regulates the planning of the charging process and the optimization of charging.

During the day, charging usually takes place via a DC fast charger in the parking lot or on the road. These can supply up to 400 kW, which means the charging time is about 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Specific charging solutions for the transport sector

For such a large project, it is best to turn to a reliable and strong partner. You can always contact Powerland for tailor-made advice. Together we will explore what options are available, including the possibility of integrating smart control, solar panels and battery storage.

With our own developed platform, my Powerland, we also offer full support in operating and invoicing all charging sessions.
